This weekend is my official RECYCLE RUN for metals and cans. My nephew, Cody, however, hooked me up big time with metal from his work (they are doing construction) so I will have made two trips before Saturday. First load netted $147.80. This load seems to be heavier so I am hoping for closer to $200. Wish me luck. (check out the picture of the 2nd load)
I will still be making an aluminum can run on Saturday so if you have any metals, or cans, let me know ASAP and I can come get it or just drop it off at my house.
I should have my online auction up this weekend, so be on the lookout and then share it with everyone you know.
July 13, is the date set for my garage sale. Kind of my last push for donations, prior to submitting papers to Haiti. If you have anything you would like to donate to the yard sale, you can drop it off, or just let me know and I will arrange to come get it.
Kayleen's Kid Quest seems to have been going on for so long, it has been just over a year since I started this process and it has been one wild and emotional ride. I love what I am going through and keep praying to stay positive and that this last part will move a little more swiftly. All in due time, right?

Woodruff, Utah - Car Show
Saturday I spent the day up in Woodruff, Utah at the 2nd annual Woodruff Car Show which one of my cousins put on. While the town of Woodruff is home to less than 200 people, there was quite a turn out. I'm sure we had more than that show up.
My cousin, Jared Huffaker, is an amazing man with a heart of gold. Kayleen's Kid Quest was at the top of his agenda for the entire day. Since Woodruff is a small town I wasn't expecting much of a turn out and was quite surprised at how many people came, especially since this is only the 2nd year he has put it on. They people there were so kind and excited to help me in my quest. We raised over $350 between the raffle and the auction they had. What an incredible experience. What a great time. He told me that each year he will find someone who needs help and all monies made from the raffles and auctions will be donated to their cause.
After Saturday I have decide that I will support his cause (whatever it may be) every year. I will donate items they can raffle off each year to thank him for what he did for me. So don't be surprised when I ask if anyone has anything to donate next year.
Thank you to my Aunt Emma and Uncle Chuck along with my other cousin Wynn who were so supportive as well. My cousin Wynn welded a coat/hat rack out of horseshoes that was pretty awesome. Thank you Wynn, for using your incredible talent to help me.
I cannot wait to take my little boy up there and have my cousins teach him to ride a sheep, then a horse. Who knows maybe he will become a little cowpoke. Oh the possibilities...... Getting soooooo close to moving to the next step.

What will he want to be?
Yesterday I spent the day with a really good friend of mine watching her daughter play in a soccer tournament. It was so much fun to sit there and see all the families together cheering on the youngest of players. Some kids definitely knew what they were doing while others just wanted to kick a ball, regardless of what direction it went. I enjoyed every minute of it.
While sitting there I couldn't help but envision the next few years and what it might be like for me. Sitting on the sidelines cheering on my little boy in whatever sport he chooses to play (yes I really hope soccer is his love). I thought about getting him in a training and skills program to help him learn to play so he looks like he understands what is going on out there. I thought about pushing him to do what he loves and do it the best he can (even he chooses to play chess), as long as he gives it all he has, I will be happy with what I will have taught him.
So many things run through my mind right now, so many dreams for him and I don't even have him yet. I just can't wait to be a mom and start training up this young boy in the way he should go. I can't wait to be a mom amd pray for him to make good friends, and right choices in his life. I can't wait to be an influence in this little boys life and teach him to dream big and then go after those dreams. I can't wait to hire a tutor for math because I suck at it and will DEFINITELY not be able to help him after he gets done with his times tables (and even that is pushing my abilities).
My dream of becoming a mom is still going strong. It is still within my reach. I am so close, yet I still feel so far away. Maybe because I just want it to happen now, and I still have a bit to go before they let me move forward. My faith is stronger than ever. I just have to keep doing my part.
